Devotion for March 29, 2022 - Sticky Situations

Sticky Situations

So this is what happens when Larks gets peanut butter in her hair.

How did it end up in her hair you ask . . . well we were eating lunch and she decided to dissect her sandwich, coat her fingers with the peanut butter, and when she got caught, decided the best place to hide the evidence was on top of her head.

Now, this was NOT a good spot, which she quickly learned.

Once she realized her hair was now sticky, she tried desperately to get it off!! To no avail. And when a concerned sibling tried to use the napkins to get the stickies out, well, that didn't work too well either.

The truth was, she needed hot water (or a hot washcloth in our case) to get the oils and fun out of her hair. Not only did she not realize the danger of putting the peanut butter in her hair, but she didn't know how to get it out once it was in! Too often we find ourselves in the same boat. Stuck and sticky and the friends we have helping aren't helping as much as is needed. We need to look to God for real help.

Psalms 121 says, "I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."

May we do the same today - look to God for help we need for all the sticky situations we find ourselves in (whether they are of our own making or not!), knowing he cares, loves, and will provide what help is needed.
