Good, better, BEST
The other week we made peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses. My kids helped. And they were SUPER excited to eat them . . . so much so that they wanted to eat them before they were completely hard . . . . which provided the perfect opportunity for Larks to scoop out all the chocolate . . . . . and then promptly dispose of the cookie and look for more chocolate.
Her priorities were simple: get the good stuff.
Now, if I just offered her a peanut butter cookie, guess what? She would love it. Eat it. Want more. But since she is aware of the "better," (. . . or some might say chocolate is the best!) suddenly her priorities change and she won't settle for anything less.
Remember Psalms 34:8: "Taste and see that the Lord is good." Once we have actually tasted the good stuff, the REALLY GOOD STUFF, our priorities change.
May God continue to draw closer to us as we draw closer to him so that we might LIVE with all the Best stuff God has for us.
