Stairs to Nowhere
Larks was excited to find these stairs. She quickly raced up them and did her little dance that I tried desperately to capture. It was pure joy. Now, she DOES give this very same jiggle when she eats something delicious, when music comes on, or really anytime she gets excited. The unfortunate part though, for all practical purposes, these steps lead to nowhere. Literally and practically nowhere.
Sometimes this is the truth we find ourselves if we aren't careful: we have followed our own intuition, climbed to the top and found ourselves alone, with nowhere left to go. Psalms 37:23 says, "The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way..."
I am sooo grateful that God is the one establishing our steps - he knows where we need to go and doesn't lead us places without cause or purpose. May it be said of us that where God leads we will follow....and dance!
