About the Event

On December 21, the Winter Solstice marks the day of the year where there is the least amount of daylight. As a result, this day is the darkest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

We find this day fitting to gather together in prayer as a congregation and community to cry out to God, to lament what cannot be changed or undone, to reflect on God's promise to each of us and the hope we have in Christ.

This specific service is an opportunity to intentionally create a space for people to mourn, lament, and cry out to God for yourself, or for someone else. The evening will include scripture readings, songs, prayer as a whole and individually, and times for reflection. All are welcome.
